Tenbury Wells And District Branch.

Welcome
To the Women's Section of the Tenbury Wells and District Royal British Legion Branch.

Background and Membership

The Women's Section was formed in February 1951 and has had it's 5th anniversary.
The branch meet at The Country Restaurant Teme Street Tenbury Wells.
Members are ex-service wives and wives of ex-service men and their families connected with H.M Forces.

The function of the branch is to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Women's Section benevolent fund, organising coffee mornings etc., help and support ex service women, wives and children of service members wives.

The Branch is also involved in flower arranging, demonstrations, quizes and monthly competitions and very actively involved with the Poppy Appeal -members man the shop (Bedford Dials) and distributing around Tenbury Wells Town, collecting Poppy Appeal boxes from around the Tenbury Wells and District area.

Meetings.

Meeting held on the third Wednesday of each month
Quarterly group meetings held with the men's section. at The Royal Oak, Tenbury Wells
New members are more than welcome.

Parades.

Civic Parade 20th June 2004
Parade assembles at Brightwells, Teme Street, Tenbury Wells at 0945 hrs
Parade to St Mary's Church and the parade returns up Teme Street with a salute taken by the Mayor of Tenbury Wells.

Remembrance Day Parade Sunday 7th November 2004
Assembles at Brightwells,Teme Street Tenbury Wells at 0945 hrs.
Parade up Teme Street, Market Street and Church Street to St Mary's Church.
Wreath laying ceremony 1100hrs 2 minutes silence Trumpeter of the parade ( Last Post ) L Burton. Standard bearers M Palmer, B Crump mens section Mrs. P Bradley women's section.
Parade returns up Teme Street after the ceremony, and the salute taken by the R.B.l President of the Tenbury Wells Branch.
Parade Marshal for all parades is R. S. M. Howson.
